A new version of Qlik Data Gateway (1.1.0) is available, so make sure you have updated
Starting October 18, Hybrid Data Delivery is replaced by the new product: Qlik Cloud Data Integration: an array of features to help you import, transform and unify data through automated processes.
💖: Reports written on Qlik Application Automation can now include elements from different applications.

You can save the state and value of a variable when you bookmark it.
Predictions on datasets can now be scheduled to be executed on a periodic basis.
You can now export a data project to a file containing everything you need to recreate the project on another account.

Visualization and Dashboarding

Developers can now add tooltips to their KPI.
New functionality in AutoML to better understand how the algorithm drives on datasets.

Admin

PostgreSQL from version 9.4 to version 14 is supported for ODBC data sources.
Requests to the Qlik Cloud REST API are now limited to avoid exceeding a certain number of requests in a given time interval.
💖: For added security, you can bring your own encryption keys to Qlik Cloud to ensure control over your data.

Simplified debugging process: display of SQL statements that have been executed, associated error messages, affected rows and execution times of storage and transformation tasks.

Sources and connectors

Six new templates and connectors in October, available for Qlik Application Automation including :

  • Alert template in case of error in an automation.
  • Two new templates to export and import automatically on Github.
  • Template for reloading all tables in a Qlik Replicate task.
  • Connector to send messages directly into a Microsoft Teams chat.
The SAP connector package has been updated, remember to update it.
💖: ODBC connector performance has been improved with the Bulk Reader feature for faster database loading.
In November, two new connectors for Qlik Application Automation:

  • Ability to write and send emails via Microsoft Outlook.
  • Apache Kafka: allows to publish data to Kafka topics and feeds.

and three new templates:

  • Export audit trail logs from QEM to Splunk.
  • Create a Slack channel when updating JIRA tickets.
  • Split QVDs automatically to improve reloads.
It is possible to connect to Google BigQuery databases using Direct Query.

For performance reasons, we often have to create multiple applications for a single project. The ability to integrate elements from multiple applications into a single report with Qlik Automation is a great new feature for Qlik Cloud developers.

In our last Qlik Cloud Release note, we saw the ability to customize certain elements like buttons and KPIs. The Qlik Cloud team adds this time a variety of options to style your graphs in donut. Improvements expected by our consultants, to produce visually enhanced reports, but which will also benefit our customers.

In terms of administrator management, we appreciate the possibility of using personal encryption keys via the Customer Managed Key to ensure control over the data. This is a good way for companies to retain sovereignty over their information and better control access to their database.

Finally, the ODBC connector continues to be improved, which allows, at our level, to gain in efficiency by reducing the data loading time, especially on large projects.
