Year 2022 has just begun and Qlik Sense On-Premise continues to be regularly updated. This month is more focused on enhancements of the user interface and improvements of Insight Advisor.
We are going to go through this release note considering two aspects : news about the graphic / design interface of Qlik Sense and the admin console, but also about the developing environments (script).
These features will be of interest to advanced users who create data analysis, graphs, tables and performance indicators and who hold a professional license. End users who consult reports and analyze data, who are holders of analysts licenses, will be directly concerned by the new developments enabled by this release.
Augmented analytics |
Insight Advisor now return entire dashboards: Before this update, Insight Advisor was only able to return simple charts for period over period analyses. Now you will enjoy an organized and aesthetic appearance for your results, allowing you for a better and quicker understanding of your request. |
Insight Advisor can now recognize expressions contained in variables and use them when generating analytics. |
More choices for calendar periods in Business Logic in Insight Advisor, so that the algorithm provides more accurate analyses based on the desired period. |
News options in Business Logic that help refine the analyses created by Insight Advisor. |
Visualizations and dashboards |
You can now add labels in grid charts for each data point. They identify the value of the measure for the data point. |
The flexible Variables dialog feature will allow you to create, modify and duplicate new variables directly inside your app without needing to reload the whole app. It is also interesting for developers to create their variable inside the flexible variables dialog instead of their script to avoid certain problems regarding special characters. However, it’s important to mention that it would be more efficient to have your variables declared into your script in case you duplicate your app, otherwise you will have to re-write all your variables into the dialog. |
Connectors |

Qlik Sense On-Premise goes toward more and more accessibility, continuing to improve the Insight Advisor feature and making the interface more understandable for more and more users. The new features also show Qlik’s willing to simplify admin and developers work adding practical features such as the configurable options during the installation of the product. They may continue in this way in the future, trying to close the gap between the On-Premise and the SaaS version.
