The return to school and to business after the summer holidays is already well behind us and the WeQan team continues to evolve. We welcome new collaborators who are expanding the team and allowing us to offer ever more agility in our services. We also continue to work on improving our processes and practices.

The projects that recently kept us busy !

• Data-science: prediction of users who have reserved their train ticket but who do not show up for boarding (“No Show”) for a passenger transport company.
• BI manager @Interim : One of our senior consultants took over during the absence of one of our customers with whom we have been working for a long time, to allow him to take advantage of this parental leave with complete peace of mind !
• Multi-techno: Implementation of a new collaborative project management platform using Microsoft Power Platform (SSIS + PBI) and Sharepoint. Team of 4 consultants on the project!
• Migration of Qlik Sense On-Premise to SaaS in an environment of 750 users – Improved performance and security through the creation of 750 applications, one per user and this, automatically,  thanks to the new features of Qlik Automation. Wondering how we maintain these 750 applications? There is no need to go back to each of them in case of changes, Qlik Automation regenerates all applications.

• Setting up report distribution with Qlik Reporting Services (QRS) features on the Qlik Sense SaaS version! Easy and very fast to set up, with some limitations on the version included in the SaaS version. Alternative to Nprinting for SaaS version owners which allows to send some simple reports.

• Qlikview to Qlik Sense migration – A migration of 10 applications in 10 days, for a better management of licenses and more readability thanks to a distribution of analyses in different sheets and applications. This update also allows us to take advantage of responsive design, video integrations, and a much more user-friendly interface. This project was managed by a team made of one junior and one senior consultant.
• Customer budget and consultant planning monitoring – This is an internal development for WeQan with the aim of improving both the tracking of our consultants’ planning and our customer’s budgets – We can now make a regular status with our clients in a few clicks!
• Time-sheet alerts: Important subject for all service companies, WeQan is no exception, we must regularly kindly remind our consultants to update their time-sheets! Our weekly alerts were previously generated with Nprinting, they are now created with Qlik Automation on the Qlik Sense SaaS version.
• Creation of an Automation (Qlik Saas), allowing to use the google translation API to automatically translate text data in Qlik.
• Top / Flop Customers: add a Top/Flop customer analysis where the rank of each customer is dynamically determined according to a measure selectable by the end user.
• Customer segmentation: Creation of a PowerBI dashboard allowing to dynamically segment customers (Active, New, Reactivated, Lost) based on one or two periods (not pre-defined in advance) as well as billing data from SAP SD.
• Challenge Table Pivot: to display in a pivot table a measure different from the main measure on the Total, Subtotal, etc. Hint: the Dimentionality() function.
• Extract in loop: set up an incremental loop in folders and files. The loop will only load the files in the newly created folders so as not to extend the total loading time indefinitely. Applies when an ERP exports flat files recoverable by Qlik.

• Export to Excel which includes formatting and colors (and totals!).
• The ability to add data manipulation scripting within a report object.

Qlik Sense SaaS

• Sample questions in Insight Advisor: Qlik Cloud application developers will now be able to define in advance sample questions in Insight Advisor .
• Simplified authoring experience: Only the most commonly used properties and visualizations are available and highlighted. New interface: Simplified Authoring.
• Qlik Sense SaaS for Mobile has been updated with a long list of improvements, mainly navigation improvements between sheets.

• Improved on-demand installation: improved process for finding the QlikView® Server installation path.
• Connections to QlikView documents stored in QVF format are now supported.

Our collaboration with you in 2023

4 consultants have joined us in 2022 and we are looking forward to the arrival of another colleague Senior Power BI consultant during next November. We will be so 15 by the end of this yearn thanks to you and the trust you have shown us for several years!

We are currently organizing our 2023 consultants planning, and our recruitment plan according to your future needs. Junior/Senior pairs have proven their worth this year, allowing you to benefit from several resources, more flexibility and to better control your budget.

As you probably know, few schools in Belgium properly prepare their students for the job of BI consultant. We have therefore adapted our organization to deliver better training for our junior consultants to our WeQan best practives, through intensive and supervision of our more senior consultants. In particular Alexis, who many of you already know, took on the role of BI Manager in WeQan at the beginning of this year.

We will contact you in the coming days and weeks to discuss your 2023 projects, so that we can reserve in our planning, even temporarily at first, the resources you will need througout the next year.
