Qlik NPrinting Release Note – February / May 2021

NPrinting is the add-on module to Qlik Sense and QlikView that allows you to create static reports in PDF, Pixel Perfect or powerpoint format.

For several years now, NPrinting has been acquired by Qlik and has given many developers the means to do automated reporting for mass distribution and alerts efficiently from their applications. (See our article on the subject) Currently the editor offers in the SaaS version new features called Qlik Reporting Service and Qlik Application Automation which take up similar features to NPrinting without allowing to reach a result as successful.

Today we will go over some of the new features in the February and May 2021 releases:

February
Audit data can now be exported in JSON format using the audit/events API
The configuration of NPrinting JWT supports the optional attribute “Audience”.
QlikEntity reports created from Qlik Sense can now be exported in SKV format.
The performance of the connector to Qlik Sense applications has been improved.

The set of public APIs is extended to include NPrinting applications. The new APIs can:

  • Generate a list of all available apps
  • Create new applications
  • Get application details
  • Update existing applications
The set of public APIs is extended to include NPrinting connections. The new APIs can:

  • Get a list of all available connections
  • Create new connections
  • Get detailed information about a connection
  • Update connection details
  • Reload connection metadata
  • Abort reloading metadata
Qlik NPrinting supports QlikView 12.50 SR4.
Qlik NPrinting supports QlikView 12.60.
Report files in CSV, SKV and BMP format will be compressed to output by NPrinting.
The NPrinting time zone database has been updated to IANA TZDB 2021a.
